On June 17th, Joey will conduct and music direct Cy Coleman’s Sweet Charity in concert for Transport Group at Kaufman Music Center. The concert will feature the original orchestrations by the great Ralph Burns. Jack Cummings III will direct the evening.
Joey will supervise A Chorus Line for Antonio Banderas’ production to open the Teatro del Soho Caixabank in Malaga, Spain in October of 2019. Banderas will co-direct with original cast member & Michael Bennett’s assistant, Baayork Lee.
On December 9th, Joey will take part as one of the guest conductors for The National Chorale’s 51st Annual Messiah Sing-In at David Geffen Hall in Lincoln Center. Click here for tickets!
Joey will serve as Music Director and Conductor for the world premier Kennedy Center commission of The Watsons Go To Birmingham: 1963 at the Kennedy Center this March. Christopher Paul Curtis's Newbery Medal and Coretta Scott King Award–winning book comes to life in a staged concert reading adaptation by Christina Ham with live music composed by Darius Smith.
